I cant login in the WebGui

I've been messing lately with some Ubuntu packages. I'm using Proxmox over Debian Lenny.

But thing is that lately I cannot login to the Webgui using my root user.

I can just login via shell with root user perfectly, but cant in the webgui for some reason, says: Check user and password are correct.

But both are correct since I can login in the shell

What may be happening?

What error message do you get? Any hint in syslog (/var/log/syslog) or /var/log/apache2/error.log?

I definitely destroyed my proxmox system.

I ended up with a boot error unrecoverable

Not a good idea to downgrade Debian to Ubuntu
