Hi

when I open the new HTML5 console it always asks me for host, port and password. (see screenshot)
Any advice?

It is across the board for me windows and osx with all browser.
Do I have to restart the proxmox server for it to work?
Do I have to set anything else, open the port in the new firewall?

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem (see screenshot at the bottom)

Server Details: latest Proxmox VE Community (2014-09-17), running behind a reverse proxy with subdomain (https://proxmox.xarif.de), this domain points to a dynamic ip; everything is working fine since years, except the novnc console

Client Details: Ubuntu, Xubuntu (x64, latest), Firefox (latest)

Hope we can figure out the problem. Ask for more setup details if needed.

Beste Grüße - Thomas

Hi, same problem here, we have upgrade last 3.2 to new 3.3, after start novnc console the loginscreen (look screen of ThomasS) comes. But if we change Login informations, no reaction of console. any ideas? tested in last ie and last ff browser.

Hi, I'm not sure it'll work begin a reverse proxy, because it's using websockets through port 8006.
So it's http for connection, but after it's going to tunneling the vnc datas

Hi, we do not have any Proxys, we have only a other standard port as 22. normal console works fine, but novnc console does not work, and not with use correct informations in input fields. any ideas?

novnc console connect to pveproxy on port 8006 (same port than webinterface), so nothing related to ssh.

Do you use custom ssl certificates ?

Hi, we connect with a subdomain to proxmox cluster. if we use the cluster ip directly, console works fine. But console must work with subdomain, too. If we test with https://subdomain.domain.tld:8006, it works, too. But if we use https://subdomain.domain.tld only, well we have a rule (iptable) to forward port 8006 to 443, it does not work. What can we do here?

as iptable rule we use:
iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -d <ipofcluster> -p tcp --dport 443 -j DNAT --to-destination <ipofcluster>:8006

best regards

Anyway VNC and SPICE with virt-viewer works still fine. But when you mention port 8006... I just use the reverse proxy for port 80 and 443. I remember that I mapped the port range used by VNC / SPICE directly to the proxmox machine on my internet gateway. So is there a special port 'noVNC' uses?

For port 80 and 443 I use a commercial certificate from start-ssl for my https-reverse proxy.

Hi dietmar, and what can we do, well we dont use a reverese proxy. than only a iptable routing.

Thanks for the link.
This error is gone now but I get a Server disconnected (code: 1006) error when opening the novnc console.

The error message in the proxmox interface is:
no connection : Connection timed out
TASK ERROR: command '/bin/nc -l -p 5905 -w 10 -c '/usr/sbin/qm vncproxy 101 2>/dev/null'' failed: exit code 1

Any suggestions?

Hi, same issue on AMD Servers with KVM connect. OpenVZ connects with novnc works on AMD Servers, KVM console works not on AMDF Servers. Please Fix it.

Thanks and best regards.
