I bought a refurbished ProLiant SE316M1R2 to replace our old server.
At first I installed Centos 7 to run hpsum, the HP update tool, which works only for rpm based distros without problems. I installed also the HP tools of the package hp-health which work fine. e.g. HPASMCLI

Than I installed the proxmox from the latest 4.x line and the the HP tools according this instructions:
http://ximunix.blogspot.co.at/2013/08/hp-toolsfirmware-for-proliantdebian.html

But the tool hpasmcli doesn't work properly - long time to start - most commands for getting informations are not working - error messages. Same commands work fine unter Centos 7.

I have no idea - problem of proxmox, problem of the HP debain version?

We use Prolient DL 380 Gen9's and Gen8's with the hp-health package and have no issues with hpasmcli.
