Hi,

I'm looking to add my LTO HP tape loader to proxmox backup.

The device is not detected by proxmox...

root@pbs:/dev# lsscsi | grep -i tape
[6:0:2:0] tape HP Ultrium 7-SCSI HB81 /dev/st0

proxmox-tape changer create lto7 --path /dev/st0
Error: path '/dev/st0' is not a lto SCSI-generic tape device

If you have any ideas
Thx

ok, it should simply work with
Code:
proxmox-tape changer create lto7 --path /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-HUJ824AJ3J-sg
not the /dev/st0 device

EDIT: disregard what i wrote, it seems that is only the drive, not the changer

can you post the output of
Code:
proxmox-tape changer scan
dmesg

?

it doesn't work, I'm sorry.

the LTO drive is connected in SAS via a PCI card on the server.

for the logs dmesg , I just send only the end (the rest of the logs are present in the attached file)

can you try adding it as a drive instead?
Code:
proxmox-tape drive <name> --path /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-HUJ824AJ3J-sg

it seems like only the drive is exposed, not the changer itself. what model is the changer?

ok, yeah this is not a tape changer, this is just a standalone drive, so you have it to add as such
