Hi,

I'm using a vm proxmox on which I've installed Windows.
I'm working from mac and use Windows App (new remote desktop) to take the remote control on it.

It workes but :
- I'm not on the same account when I access from Proxmox NoVPN and from Windows App remote access.
I'm asked to close the other access when I try to access by the other way.
My account is "Other account" when I'm connecting by Windows App.
- The windows's license is "already used" and is not working whichever the access I choose.
- The files of the network aren't recognized as safe and I don't have the option to accepted them, so I have to, for example, copy them on the desktop to execute my own macro.
...

Could you please help me to correctly configure the VM and remote access to fix all the issues of this vm ?
Thanks

I'm not quite sure if I understand you correctly. But basically, only one user can be logged in to MS Windows at a time. Unless you are using an MS terminal server.

This means that if you are connected to your Windows via RDP, you cannot connect to that Windows VM via NoVNC and login with an other user at the same time. For that, you would need a Windows terminal server license.

If you are using a Windows Server 2012 -> 2022, at least two administrators can log in at the same time. I have not tested 2025.

Thanks for your answer.
I don't want to connect 2 users, I just want to connect to the same account when I connect myself on the proxmox NoVNC or on the Windows App.
Presently, it's not the case, I can't see anything of my Desktop of my Windows App (remote desktop) on the Proxmox NoVNC.

However, I don't see several account on the VM.
I can't access with the azure account on windows app. I log with just a login.
I recreate a VM and the remote access doesn't work at all.

I've got another VM, with windows 10 on it, and I can see my remote desktop on it with the NoVNC view.
But with Windows 11, I don't know how to do so.

Best regards

If you’re seeing different desktops you’re presumably logging in as two different users. Open a cmd prompt and look at which directory you’re in, on each.

Windows users who aren’t local admins need to be in the Remote Desktop Users group to use RDP.
