Hi,
Firstly, I am learning, and no way a linux or Proxmox expert - so please be gentle with me!
I have a working Proxmox 7.1-10 environment, and PBS server 2.1-1, and very happy with it. My 'VE Server' has a mirror setup for storing my VM's which is now getting a little full, so I thought it was time to cash in on the 1.TB storage available via iSCSI on my QNAP.
The problem is, that although I'm pretty sure all is setup correctly on the QNAP side and the networking between, I don't understand how to activate and utnilise the 2nd NIC interface on Proxmox (in VMware it's pretty obvious).
In the Node->System->Network settings, I can see what I guess are two NIC's but since they are not consecutively named, and don't have a MAC address I cant be sure, but I'm guessing type of 'Network Device' means NIC?:
eno1 - Network Device - Active (NO)
enps1 - Network Device - Active (YES)
vmbro - Linux Bridge - Active (YES) - Port/Slaves enps1
So from this I can see that the Linux Bridge is using the enps1 interface and has an IP address and gateway whoich allows me connect to the admin pages etc - all good!
I can also see that each of my working VMs have vNIC's connected via the the bridge, and so can be communicated with on the LAN etc. - again all good.
Provided eno1 is actually my 2nd NIC, I'd like to use it as an iSCSI interface for storage. My QNAP has two interfaces, one of which operates the SCSI service, this is plugged into a switch with a VLAN port for the iSCSI, and the server 2nd interface is physically plugged into a recipricol VLAN port, so as to 'isolate' the iSCSI/VLAN traffic. Since the switch ports are setup for the VLAN, I don't think I need to enable VLAN configuration on ProxMox?
My main questions are:
1 - Is eno1 really my 2nd NIC?
2 - How do I activate this NIC so that I can se it as a storage adapter (iSCSI)?
Step by steps from a guru would be appreciated!
