How to set the default shutdown-method to STOP for a VM?

Hi,

one of the VMs running on the PVE is a special router software. This is not supporting a shutdown via a ACPI command or so. I already turned of ACPI in the options of the VM. But every time i restart or shutdown the PVE, the whole process locks up and waits for this VM to stop, because it is trying to stop it via a shutdown and not via a stop method.

How can i configure this VM to be always shutdown with the stop method?

Or is it enough in that case to configure the "Shutdown timeout" in the Start/Stop settings to a very low value like 5s?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Martin

Configuring to stop instead of shutting down is not possible.
Changing the shutdown timeout is probably the best way.
