Hello all,

I'm a relatively new proxmox user, so please excuse me if i'm not clear. Moreover I've search this forum to find a similar case but I could not find.

I've setup a server with 6 VM running on it, since one month.
Yesterday i was configuring backup via NFS share and the server crashed BEFORE any backup has been made. I can log on my server but can't restart it normaly (Rescue Mode only at OVH host provider). So this morning I did tar.gz from my machines from "/var/lib/vz/private/" subdirectorie, and have FTPed them to another proxmox server.
I was wondering if there could be a way build clones of my machines on this new server.

Hope I have been clear and someone could help me.

Ed

Hello again,

I've restored everything in a slightly different way. I've used my tar.gz backup as template to recreate VM on my new server, and everything seems ok right now. I'll let it run few days before reinstalling my primary server, and probably migrate VM back to it.

Thanks tom, I'll use your method next time....eve if I hope there won't be next time
