How to optimize VMs in a cluster

Hello,

I'm using PROXMOX Virtual Environment 6.4-6

I have a cluster with 4 nodes.

I have activated HA which is great.

But when a node is dead, it messes up the way I distributed my VMs accross the nodes to optimize RAM and CPU.

I've been doing this manually.

Now I'm wondering if there's a way to let PROXMOX optimize VM distribution across all the nodes to have optimal load of RAM and CPU.

I've been looking at the documentation and I can't find anything about that.

Is there any best practices or any recommendation on how to distribute VMs amongst a cluster ?

I don't know of any. I tend to distribute for even RAM, CPU and IO usage. But that also depends on the hardware that you have in your cluster.
