How to new HDD to Backup of Proxmox?

I have a failing HDD that was part of "pve" group and was "thin" provisioned. I have moved some of it's data to another HDD that I installed with a new VG that is named "newdrive" but is not "thin" provisioned.

Now, I have a 6TB external USB storage connected to same server. I would like to do the following:
- Move all remaining LXC containers from failing HDD (known as VG pve) to this new 6TB external storage by using Backup process of Proxmox v4.2 GUI.
- Then I want to move all the LXC containers from new HDD (LVM provisioned) also to the 6TB external storage by using Backup process of Proxmox v4.2 GUI.
- Finally, I want to convert my new HDD (VG "newdrive") to LVM-Thin and Restore all the LXC containers from 6TB external USB drive back to this newly provisioned LVM-Thin VG.

My question:
What are the commands I should run to connect, attach, and make this External USB to accept Backups from GUI?
*External USB was just connected to server and nothing else done.
