I have created the pool for storage but now how to mount it in Proxmox to save VMs there and iso files, backups etc.

I know that part to go in GUI and add it but should it have a path like default storage /var/lib/vz ?

This is creating me troubles because when I create new hard drives in proxmox for vm-s it creates new disks in system like /dev/sdb etc with names zd01,zd16 etc...Can someone help me on this I am migrating to new infrastructure...it looks very poor with answers for ZFS in this forum.

It appears (as would make sense) that the VM drives are created as zvols when you're creating them within a ZFS storage location. A zvol is a block device, and thus won't appear as a file the way that most virtual disk types will. Apparently I can't post links now, but if you google "what is a zfs zvol", the first few hits will explain things.

I thing I have read for it as a term before...so do you have any suggestion how to not create vm drives as zvol ( I think zvol is not very good to be used in my case)

If you want it created as a file, you can create the storage on a ZFS pool, but just don't tell Proxmos it's ZFS storage. I can't address whether that would be good or bad for you, though.
