Stoiko Ivanov Proxmox Staff Member Staff member May 2, 2018 9,220 1,653 248 Aug 28, 2019 #2 You can add a second disk to a zpool as a top-level vdev - however if one disk fails the complete pool is gone (redundancy wise this is pretty much RAID0) - see https://serverfault.com/questions/703471/why-isnt-my-zfs-pool-expanding-using-zfs-on-linux if you value your data - rather add the disk as a second disk to the primary vdev to get a mirror! hope this helps!
