My friend has installed a new Proxmox on an existing Proxmox host. I've successfully imported the old disk and started some of the old VMs, but most of them are not working. I'd like to ask for expert advice on how to troubleshoot this issue

This is the problem I encountered.

Thank you

Hi,

can you please provide the configuration of the VM(s)? Best using qm config <vmid>, e.g. qm config 117 in a shell.

So you have imported the disks only, not as a complete backup including the configuration?
This looks like that the boot order is simply not set correctly. Please ensure that under the Options menu, the boot order includes (as first element) the (main) VM disk containing the OS/bootloader.

Hi,

Below is result from command

Does this mean that before I can start the old VM from the imported disk, I need to reinstall the old OS on it? If so, how can I check which OS was originally installed on that VM-disk? Or if I misunderstood, please explain.

Thank you

If you have a proxmox backup it includes the disk image(s) as well as the configuration files.

You seem to have created a new config file, and you have added the disk twice, as sata0 and as scsi0, or are these two different disk images?
You seem to be booting from network, try a
Code:
bootdisk: sata0
entry to boot from that disk

Here is an example from my proxmox

agent: 1
bootdisk: ide0
cores: 2
ide0: ceph:vm-4074-disk-0,cache=writeback,discard=on,size=90G,ssd=1
ide1: none,media=cdrom
localtime: 1
memory: 6144
name: windows10.s.lihas.de
net0: virtio=F6:0E:92:F5:74:2B,bridge=vmbr0
numa: 0
onboot: 1
ostype: win10
scsihw: virtio-scsi-pci
smbios1: uuid=2de3700c-0927-46ec-b958-21eb014516d6
sockets: 2
vga: qxl,memory=32
