How to extract vm from disk and restore to new pve node

You also need the VMs/LXCs config files from the old system disks /etc/pve folder. Otherwise you only got virtual disks without any VM. And your /etc/pve folder will probably be empty when your PVE won't be able to boot as the plve-cluster service then isn't running that mounts the pmxcfs DB into /etc/pve.

Dunuin was a bit misleading ... you ONLY need the config files, the disks don't have to be changed, extracted or whatever. Just use them with their config and start them up, that's all.

Hi,
