How to enable email verification

Hello all,

Our config as follows:

incoming mail Internet ----> PMG cluster----> Exchange 2019
outgoing mail Exchange 2019 ---->PMG cluster ----> Internet

We would like to have the ability to verify our emails I am using www.mailtester.com and I am currently getting this message, but I would want it verify the emails.

How can I do that?

We cannot know what mailtester.com means by e-mail verification -> check the PMG logs from the time when you tried that - that might give you an idea of what's e-mail address verification means in that context

Seems to be connecting to the server to verify..


From their website:

Just enter the e-mail address and wait for the test results to appear.
There you will see the results of the different checks that are performed:
  • Syntax check
    If the format is incorrect it will be reported why. For example: unsupported characters, missing @-sign.
  • DNS lookup
    Any problems looking up the domain (the part after the @-sign) in DNS (Domain Name System) will be reported.
  • SMTP verification
    If possible an SMTP connection will be made to a mail server that is responsible for the e-mail, and any issues are reported.
    Note that for some domains the SMTP servers don't allow verification, so no information can be found. In this case the e-mail address may or may not exist.
 
Thanks - however this does not answer the question what exactly mailtester.com expects a server to do and what PMG does not do

does sending e-mails work?

why do you want/need the mailtester check to work?

It's a mess with Exchange above 2010 Versions with enabled verification. If just one address is not existing when to want to receive an e-mail with multiple recipients, exchange will reject all e-mails :D
