How to debug 100% CPU LXC?

I have an LXC container that goes ballistic after a while, to the extend that I cannot even console in.
Any ideas how to see what is causing that from Proxmox?

top on the host will also show the processes in all containers. Or use pct enter CONTAINER_ID_NUMBER to get a terminal inside the container without logging in.
