Hallo,

I am new to proxmox,

When I deployed VM with Centos OS 7.7.qcow2 image in proxmox the network interface device is ip add showing eth0, but when looked into /etc/sysconfig/network-script directory the interface named it as ifcfg-ens18.

Due to this issue VM unable to get IP address from DHCP server due to interface configuration not found.

One manual way I am doing current, renaming ens18 to etho0 and changing the configuration inside the file.

I read https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames/ but I don't understand on what parameters will affect in proxmox to create interface names.

My vm configuration is as fallows

Is there way automated way do this process? Any documentation please share.

Hi,

Proxmox VE does not set the network name inside a VM(KVM).
This is done by a udev-rule in CentOS 7.
