How much risk with the No-Subscription Repository?

I've been trying for more than a year to get our school district to be able to pay for a subscription to Proxmox, however since we are in the US and the district cannot pay for things without receiving an invoice, do not (and cannot have) a credit card or PayPal, it means we just can't buy Proxmox support, which has been really frustrating. So now I'm left with the choice of moving our in-production systems onto the No-Subscription Repository to get updates, or migrating to another VM solution entirely. Can anyone let me know what sort of a risk I'll be running by moving to the No-Sub Subscription Repository so I can make a judgement call?

Are you certain that none of these guys https://www.proxmox.com/en/partners/reseller/category/usa know how to work with government agency and issue an invoice?

To answer your question - its pretty safe. Just use "safe practices" - dont upgrade the moment a new release comes out, understand whats in the upgrade by examining the commit messages if no "changes" are available, dont try to operate on super old or super new hardware.

It hadn't occurred to me to investigate if partners could act as an intermediary for the purchase of a license! Thanks for mentioning that, I will look into those companies. Glancing at their websites, at least one looks like they could offer what we need:

Thanks for the advice!
