how many pgs? how to find the pg number?

hello all...new to proxmox,i need some help please....
i have 12 osd's and i want to set the pool,but no matter what i try,i get errors....
is there a simple way to calculate the pg number based on the osd's or something?

dear wolfgang,and the others....is there some other easier way? this calculator gives me a headache....and i can not understand its logic.....
to be clear,i have 3 hard disks so,3 osd's....but no matter whar pg num i give,i get errors.....please,someone advice....

1024 should be a good start with 12 OSDs.

i think i tried it,but it gave me an error,1024 pg degraded,and stuck,or something......anyway,i;ll try it again....thank you!

last try....i followed the istructions here

says if you have less than 5 osds give pg num 128 (top of the page)...still no luck....giving up proxmox,will try something else.....
