How do I pass through an external USB drive into an LXC container?

I have a USB SSD which I have connected to Proxmox. It is formatted in ntfs.

I have it mounted and accessible through the Proxmox node, but I don't understand how to pass it through to a container.

I tried adding it as a mount point, specifying the mount directory, but when I try to list files in the directory from within the container, all I see is a lost+found.

Am I missing a step related to permissions? I found some old help threads about this, but I'm still confused. Exactly what am I supposed to be changing for the files and folders to be viewable from within an unprivileged container?
