How do I add Intel NIC card drivers for the first time?

(I am new to Linux servers, and know little at the moment. I am learning by doing.)
I am trying to learn how to perform a first-time installation of Intel's X710-DA2 (PCIe SFP+ NIC card), since PVE doesn't just automatically grab the drivers and start working properly. I see instructions on Intel's site for manually install the drivers, but I don't understand the instructions. I'd also rather have automated updates, in case updates are pushed out. How do I add the appropriate repository for this NIC card? I haven't found it in documentation or on Intel's site, yet. The machine has 1GbE ports on the motherboard, so I'll just swap to ports once the drivers are in place.

The X710 should work out of the box with no additional drivers since PVE 6. But the cards have their downsides, especially with offloading.

Do you see the card in your PVE‘s network?

I'm not sure what the trouble was, but I got it working. My server machine is currently haunted (won't go past POST with new/different boot media attached [this has been a months-long, inexplicable battle]). Since It's working now for a dew days, I'm taking the win and moving on.

Should I mark this thread solved, or delete it, since know helpful troubleshooting info is not documented here?
