How can you run VM created on Proxmox 7.3-3 on Proxmox 7.1-4

I have a backup of Windows 10 VM which was originally created on Proxmox 7.3-3. I need to restore this backup on an older Proxmox Host version 7.1-4.
When I try to start the VM on it I get an error message:
"TASK ERROR: Installed QEMU version '6.1.0' is too old to run machine type 'pc-i440fx-7.1+pve0', please upgrade node 'prox01'"

How can I run the VM without upgrading the Proxmox Host to the newer version?
I CANNOT risk something going wrong upgrading it to the newer version of the Proxmox.

Can you change the Machine setting in Promxox 7.3 before doing the backup?
Can you share the VM configuration file from the /etc/pve/qemu-server/ directory?
You can probably manually edit it to a machine type version that does work with PVE 7.1. I'm not sure how WIndows will respond to a such a change.

Create a dummy VM on 7.1, note the differences - specifically around "machine:" line. Copy the line from dummy VM to your restored one. Does that work?

I was able to boot the VM by changing the following settings in the /etc/pve/qemu-server/[vm_id].conf
