how can I install Proxmox on to an external USB drive

Hi

I have a 1TB NVMe USB drive, is it possible to install Proxmox to run from this drive?

When I run the Proxmox installer it does not appear to mount the USB drive and only shows the original primary drive which I wish to keep as is.
I appreciate running from the USB is not ideal but it suites my purpose.
