Proxmox is/was available as a package install on debian.
Great.

Proxmox is Perl, a web server, openVZ and KVM

Thoses are available on FreeBSD (and there is even jail that could be added)

It would be cool to port proxmox on FreeBSD port system (because IPTable vs PF and more)

Proxmox VE is a distribution, so it cannot be installed on any other OS than Debian.

You got a clear answer so I am sorry that you do no like it.

But if you think I am wrong, try to do the port, no one will prevent you doing it.

But as its not possible, you can also just trust me ...

Sing : I am NOTa believer

Anyway, the real question is : why it wouldnt be ? what feature is not available on FreeBSD ?
of course the edition /etc/network/interface has to change for vmbrX detection for example,
and some other trick, but the core of openVZ and KVM is just the same ....

Proxmox VE is Debian based. FreeBSD is not Debian - seems we talk about different things.

Of course, you can try to build something similar on any other platform. the questions is, why?

on the current proxmox i run, i have -nasty- bug in iptables.

NASTY

Debian is GNU+linux+APT+some /etc/rc script
GNU run on FreeBSD
/etc/rc script or portage works
APT is portage tools.

if you have a bug, report it or even better, fix it!
