Host stopped resolving

Can no longer access my proxmox host by name on my network. Was configuring a container in the interface and the "connecting..." popup or whatever it is popped up randomly and now I can only access the server via ip. resolv.conf is fine. My hosts file is fine. Everything else on my network resolves just fine. My dns server is fine. What is going on?

I'm new to proxmox and my experience so far has been absolutely awful. From not being able to install from the usb image due to the installer booting to a black screen (apparently a known bug that's existed for YEARS) forcing me to install it over debian which means I can't use zfs on root (real nice), to now dns just randomly crapping out. Literally nothing I have done with proxmox has worked. Nothing. Even this form I'm typing this rant into keeps removing my blank lines! Give me a BREAK! It's an endless stream of frustration.

Can someone please enlighten me before I throw this software straight into the trash?

What is the output of dig <hostname> ? When you launched the container did you maybe use the same hostname as your host?

Code:
dig <hostname>
does not return an answer section when run from the host itself or from other machines on the network. The container does not have the same hostname (and also isn't running).

Could you provide the output of the following commands?
Code:
cat /etc/hostname
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/network/interfaces
