Host not accessible, VM still is

Hi,

I installed Proxmox on a server at Hetzner and I have two IP addresses. One is for the Proxmox host, the other is for one VM.

I followed their guide (wiki.hetzner.de search for Proxmox_VE) and set up a bridged network for two single IPs.

Now I encounter the repeatable problem that I loose connection to the host completely (and within minutes) while the VM is still accessible by its IP. Obviously there is something wrong with my network configuration and I am too blind to see it.

If anybody is aware of that behaviour I would really appreciate any suggestions where to look in further.

Can you paste the output of your network config ( /etc/network/interfaces )

Thank you, especially Manu, for your interest. Like I thought already I screwed up the bridging. I'd better start reading more carefully than bothering you... Thx
