Hello all ,

I'm reaching out as I've having a weird issue with proxmox/overall networking issue? On any of my nodes If im in the console for about 30 seconds exactly ( I timed it lol). Any console or ssh session will freeze. Now if im on the same vLAN all is good but it's not an ideal to use a jump box whenever I want to access said Servers. I'm using pfSense and tried allowing all ports temporarily from my desktop to those servers and no luck either im kinda stumped atm. Any Suggestions?

Hi,

what Browser (+ version) and OS do you use?
Is there a reverse proxy in-between your desktop and your Proxmox VE node? Often that is what causes such an issue from experience.

Main Desktop is Window 11 using Firefox, Laptop I have is Pop!_OS 22.04 Firefox as well. I’m not using a reverse proxy at all this all internal being done. Just two separate vLANS. I’m using pfsense and I’m wondering if the firewall is doing some weird stuff with vLANS. I’d also like to add nothing happens to the stability of the nodes or VM’s just console freezes and ssh to the parent’s just freezes and then drops.

Have you found any solutions / causes for this issue? My installation is exhibiting a similar symptom (i.e., host console 'freezes' after ~35 seconds when connected from a computer on a different VLAN -- that has full access through the firewall). Connecting on the same VLAN solves the problem.

This seems to have been an issue with how I had pfSense setup is my guess. I switched to a UniFi firewall and am no longer seeing this issue.
