I'm going to set up a homelab, my configuration is an HP Z440 with an E5-2699V4 and 160 GB of ram
For Storage i have choice with :
2x 240 Gb SATA SSD
2x NVME Samsung 970 Evo 500Gb
2x NVME WD SN700 1Tb
3x Sata Ironwolf 2TB
I have 2 PCIE to dual NVME card, 1 dont need Bifurcation, 1 need Bifurcation (motherboard is ok)
For backup I will use the Ironwolf in raid 5.
What is the best for :
- System with raid 1
- VM Storage, with raid 1
and also what best file system ?
