Home Network - Topology Config

Currently looking to transition out my Firewalla Gold and install ProxMox w/ Checkpoint Firewall on a dedicated device I have built.
The question I have is where/how this new device will fit into my network topology.

Attached* Is a rough outline of my current network in place.

I do not have a traditional standalone router like most as Firewalla Gold is handling that and I have SSID/VLAN Mappings configured between Unifi Network Controller and Firewalla itself with the Unifi AP providing wireless to clients.

Once I remove Firewalla Gold I am questioning ip configuration as it will essentially be sitting directly at the edge of my network exposed publically to my ISP/WAN.

Question #1 Do I need a traditional, dedicated router initially to have this setup or can I just connect the newly created ProxMox box to Port #1 on Firewalla Gold to obtain DHCP address? Then once checkpoint Firewalla is configured place the management interface behind a dedicated vlan.

Thanks again!
