Hi everyone,

my current setup is: encrypted Proxmox 8 installation on Debian 12, one disk (raid1), everything is working OK
Instead of upgrade to Proxmox 9 Im considering setup change:

new setup:

disk1 (hw raid1) - encrypted Proxmox 9 on Debian 13 - it would be only small disk with Proxmox itself and some space for ISO and CT templates

disk2 (hw raid1) encrypted data disk(LVM) for VMs, this disk I would manually connect to proxmox (maybe some script later)

I tested this setup in virtual enviroment and it seems to work fine, but have some question:

1/ can you think of any future problems that could appear later with this setup that Im not aware of?
2/ proxmox will start without disk 2, it will be connected later, could this cause some troubles except that VM autostart will not work ?
3/ If I would run disk 1 with only one disk ( no raid) and this disk would failed. Can I just buy new one, install Proxmox on it, connect disk 2 to it and all will be working again?
- Im aiming with this to some cost save,

4/ I have all my VMs backed up on PBS, so migration on this new setup would mean just fresh installation of Proxmox and then I would restore VMs from backup server to disk2 and it will work or some other manual work is needed?

thank you in advance for your answers
T.
