Hi guys,

i've 3 server (3 nodes), i build up also a Shared Storage and i'm able to connect via proxmox to it.

In order to use HighAvaibility, when i'm going to create a VM i should install it using the Shared Storage HD?

Then add the VM to the High Avaibility?

Because when i do it, the installation get in stuck, it seems that there are some problem to write on the HD storage, i use normal ethernet cable...

You should install and use the vm on the shared storage if you want to have it in a HA setup. The guest operation systems does not care if it is stored on a local or network disk, it should work either way. Technically there is no way (I can think of) to detect if the virtual disk is on a local or remote storage system. One could guess by I/O delays, but no way to detect it internally.

What storage type does your shared storage use? How do you do HA on your storage side, or do you not plan to get rid of your single point of failure: the storage?

i'm using an HP server as storage with about 100Gb Raid tecnology. Now everithing is fine and the installation on the VM is okay, i changed the way proxmox is writing to the remote storage.

I've another question... to test the HA should i switch off let's say Server1 and i automatically should se VMs running in Sever1 going to Server 2? Right?
