High Availablity for Proxmox VE 2.0 beta arrived!

Dunno about Proxmox 2, but normally you would be able to hack in virtual fencing devices, like serial link, ssh, or just no-op. Using such "devices" is not recommended in production, of course, but for test networks they may be fine...

Hmm... so there is HA for OpenVZ Containers? If they work on shared storage only, which filesystem will they use? AFAIK, OpenVZ only supports non-shared filesystems if quotas are needed. Or you are now creating LVM volume for each container?

We have done some test on NFS - first level quota seems to work. But I never tested second level quotas.

My hosting provider (Hetzner, Germany) offers an API for powercycling a node. Would I be able to extend Proxmox V2 to use that as a fencing provider?

Ask hetzner if they have a fence driver for redhat-cluster-suite.

Hi!

HA with openVZ container is really a killer. A very good new for this starting new year.

Thanks to all the team.

Also then i see this error:

 failed!

Does it help when you run 'aptitude upgrade' first?
Not sure what order you mean here, But I have tried "apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, aptitude update, aptitude upgrade" Are you saying to try to run the "Upgrade" BEFORE "update"??

Sorry, I meant you should run "apt-get update" - but you have already done that. Seems there is something wrong with that debian mirror servers. Please try to use another server (edit /etc/apt/sources.list). You can find a list of valid server at http://www.debian.org/mirror/list

Hi all!

We just released new packages, introducing High Availability for Proxmox VE 2.0 (beta). Just run "aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade" to update from a previous beta.

I also started to create video tutorials, published on our YouTube channel - including a short demo of HA - http://www.youtube.com/user/ProxmoxVE

As always, a big Thank-you to our active community for all feedback, testing, bug reporting and patch submissions!!!

just thought I would let you know that your torrent download is broken/NO Seeds/trackers down. how ever there are a few peers stuck at about 18%
I tried to add a http url client so that I could complete the download and then seed it, but haven't been able to find a absolute url to add, and redirects don't work.

I downloaded the iso thru http and Manually merged with my local torrent download and am now seeding. :)

Personal suggestion when creating the new torrent of the next version, please add the http seeds to the torrent it will (1)lower your bandwidth (2)speedup the torrent and (3)guaranty the torrent is available. also always add an open tracker like udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 as a backup.
please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

thank you
Peter.

Hi, I'm facing the same problem. Did you finally resolve the problem of apache2Warning: DocumentRoot [/usr/share/pve-manager/root] does not exist ?

Sorry to dig up this old posting, but I just did apt-get update/upgrade and let apache upgrade.... now getting this error as well.

Still searching for fix, and help would be grateful.

I have the same issue and its a week later.

#service apache2 restart
Restarting web server: apache2Warning: DocumentRoot [/usr/share/pve-manager/root] does not exist
Warning: DocumentRoot [/usr/share/pve-manager/root] does not exist
Action 'start' failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.
failed!

Ah... hope this is ok, just reinstalled pve-manager via aptitude.... seems to correct it..

Also had to reinstall proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 2.1-74

now pveversion seems to be inline...
