Hetzner StorageBox for VM disks

Good day everyone.
I tried to use a Hetzner StorageBox to store an additional disk of a virtual machine with Windows Server 2012.
So I connected the StorageBox to Proxmox via CIFS and created a raw disk for the VM there.
Windows sees this new drive, but cannot format it. "Formatting could not be completed" error.

I also tried to create a disk for the VM not in raw format, but in qcow2, but an error occurred during the disk creation process:

update VM 104: -scsi1 StorageBox:1000,format=qcow2,discard=on
Formatting '/mnt/pve/StorageBox/images/104/vm-104-disk-0.qcow2', fmt=qcow2 cluster_size=65536 preallocation=metadata compression_type=zlib size=1073741824000 lazy_refcounts=off refcount_bits=16
TASK ERROR: error during cfs-locked 'storage-StorageBox' operation: unable to create image: got lock timeout - aborting command

Is it even a good idea to use CIFS storage for virtual machine disks?
Anyone using StorageBox from Hetzner for this purpose?
Thank you for the answer.

I only heard of people using it as cheap backup storage and even then the performance wasn't great as far as I remember. Probably not great as a storage for block devices.
