Help w/ Queues

We backup our mailserver every couple of days and have prox queue our mail. However, after I bring the server up mail may hang for quite sometime. I can see it sitting in the queue.

What does flush queue do? and what are the 'retry' times during a time out connection? is it just the #s across the top of the queues page?

5s/10s/80s/ etc ??

Thanks

The mail gateway tries to delivers queued emails for 7 days. Depending on the offline time of your internal mail server, the interval for the next delivery increases.

Flush queue forces a delivery, means if your internal mail server is up and you flush the queue mails are delivered immediately (as fast as possible).
