I would like to customize and compile seabios (or coreboot) from source and direct specific VMs to the alternate bios. replacing bios.bin in /user/shark/kvm does not appear to do this and i'm unaware of what arg should be passed to the vm to specify an alternate location.

Can anyone point me to this information or assist with this?

The BIOS file QEMU loads by default is /usr/share/kvm/bios-256k.bin. If you compile SeaBIOS using the QEMU configuration (roms/configure-seabios.sh in the QEMU repository) you can just take the resulting *.bin file from running 'make' in the 'seabios' repository root and use that as the 256k variant.

Thank you very much for a complete and efficient answer. Lacking some experience, it was a brief struggle for me and with some additional headaches it was exactly what I needed and I now understood how complete the answer was. Accomplished what I needed; thank you.
