Help reconfiguring volume group

Hello!

I have a pve install on a machine with two consumer nvme devices, one 500GB (nvme1n1) and one 1TB (nvme0n1). Proxmox was standard installed with lvm on the 500GB drive. I later added the other device to the pve volume group and expanded the data thin pool onto it.

In doing this, I added the raw device /dev/nvme0n1 to the volume group. I had intended to add a full-device GPT partition /dev/nvme0n1p1 but I messed it up. The volume group is barely provisioned so I assess that I need to move all vm/container disks off this node, and then do the work of shrinking or recreating data, and removing devices from the vg.

However, this is something I do not want to mess up and I wonder if someone could walk me through the cli commands to accomplish this. To summarise, I have nvme0n1 added to the pve volume group, with the data thinpool expanded across it. I wish to recreate this setup, but with nvme0n1p1.

Thank you for your time!
