Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get some help from the community as I'm stuck on a restore issue with Veeam on my new Proxmox environment.

My Goal:I am currently migrating my VMs from a Proxmox server hosted at OVH to a new Proxmox server I've set up at home. I am using Veeam Backup & Replication for this task.

My Environment:

  • Source Host (OVH): Proxmox VE 8.3.2
  • Target Host (Home): Proxmox VE 9.0.1
  • Veeam Server: Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.2.3617

The Steps I've Taken:

  1. I have added both Proxmox hosts to my Veeam console.
  2. The backup job for the VM on the source host (OVH) completes successfully.
  3. I launch the restore wizard to restore this VM onto my target host (Home).
The Problem:The restore job fails almost instantly (at 1% or 2%) with the following error message:

9/20/2025 8:48:48 PM :: Error: Failed to prepare disks for restore
