I've tried a few benchmarks on the same machine with interesting results:

Dell PowerEdge 1950
Xeon 2.8GHz
8GB RAM
PERC 5/i RAID
2x SAS 15K 74GB (RAID 1/Mirrored)

Windows 7 Pro (Native):
50MB:
Seq: 693.7/612.4
512K: 639.5/581.5
5K: 76.08/64.41
4K QD32: 139.5/129.9

4000MB
Seq: 125.2/94.29
512k: 71.13/57.20
4K: 1.114/1.948
4K QD32: 4.382/2.169

Proxmox 1.9 (Win 7 Pro):
50MB:
Seq: 225.0/210.7
512K: 224.7/209.9
5K: 11.87/11.45
4K QD32: 21.30/21.37

4000MB
Seq: 96.44/81.88
512k: 53.22/51.52
4K: 1.020/1.948
4K QD32: 1.213/2.031

Proxmox 2 RC1 (Win 7 Pro):
50MB:
Seq: 247.4/228.9
512K: 241.1/222.6
5K: 11.16/10.81
4K QD32: 19.82/19.58

4000MB
Seq: 76.15/66.65
512k: 43.62/47.32
4K: 1.017/2.174
4K QD32: 1.161/1.981

Anyone got an explanation for the drop in performance? any hints on increasing it? I have just upgraded the RAID cards firmware and also the HDD firmware and im running some further benchmarks but i doubt that this will create much of a difference.
