[SOLVED] Having issues logging in

Just yesterday I was able to log in just fine, I finished setting up Open Media Vault and made sure it was working before getting off for the night. Today I go to log in and it just says login failed. Restarted the whole machine and nothing changed. I tried to SSH into it, and it just gave me the same Login failed error. I've also tried from my phone and that also didn't work. Checking my xfinity router interface, it says my proxmox instance isn't connected (odd thing it shows it is connected till attempt to log in)
I can however still get into my share and the OMV manager still works as well.
The only other thing I did yesterday was make sure Proxmox was able to update properly.

I'm not sure what my next steps should be and I'm not sure what information you all might need.

sounds like a network misconfiguration...

which IP address did your PVE server have?

well that's weird. are you ssh'ing in as the root user?

if you have physical access to your host can you try logging into it?

would be interesting to see the VM configuration (especially w.r.t. networking) and your PVE host /etc/network/interfaces files.

Feeling like a bit of a dunce now. I've been using a password manager for everything, forgot that I hadn't updated the password for Proxmox when I got new hardware and reinstalled it.

So that this isn't an entire waste of time. What would be the best resource to become more proficient with Proxmox? Thanks, sorry again.

also resources about debian linux, or linux administration in general would be helpful if you're not familiar.
