I have an old dell r720 and all my other passthrough components work fine. Just want to make sure I'm doing this one right. I have it show up as Nvidia only and Nvidia audio controller but my other tesla card shows up fine.

Hey could you tell me what you did to solve this? I have the same issue that the a4000 shows up as Nvidia only...
If you pass through an entire card you can’t use the console you have to use Remote Desktop from Microsoft which is free. You’ll need a Microsoft account but this is only for windows.

I didn’t have that issue in windows. You might have to get the GeForce suite or the driver for it to show up.

@odalmach3 could you post a screenshot of your passthrough and VM/container settings if you configure it through the GUI? also run "dmesg | grep IOMMU" on the host node and post that output.

Strange is that the GPU Modell is not shown... it only says Nvidia. The Sound Controller is shown correctly

That is very weird that it doesn't show up to the host with the correct name, but I'm used to consumer GPUs so maybe it's different with the A4000.Do you have a video cable plugged into the card at the moment? Years ago I remember having to tell the host OS explicitely not to map the GPU as it's own GPU, otherwise you wouldn't be able to pass it through to the guest. That wasn't an issue this time around though. So I'm wondering if it's mapping to the host because there is a video cable plugged in. Also - is your Proxmox host fully up to date?
