Hi @ all ;)

i like to setup a home server.
i think about a small 16GB quadcore win10 machine,
and for web-serving with virtualbox-debian 8, with proxmox on it...
But can i use a cheap USB-3 SSD Hard raid for proxmox??

Hi,
Win 10 -> virtual box -> debian8/pve??

Normaly you have pve installed on the host (bare metall) and as VM linux/win10

About Hardware Raid - if the raid was an real raid and not an fake-raid (aka software raid) and has an driver for Ubuntu it's should known by the kernel.

What exactly is a " USB-3 SSD Hard raid"? Do you mean a direct attached storage with some raid logic in it?

If you really want to set it up like you described and not like @udo explained as its real purpose as hypervisor:
If this is Win 10 Pro (or more expensive), just use Hyper-V. You can also use the built in Ubuntu Linux (maybe only Win 10 inside preview) to have a working Linux.

Hi sorry for long time no replay... reallife ...:(

so on end i bought for home a small quadcore, intel 2.6, fanless, with a lot of sata and usb3 ports, 16gb ram and 250ssd..
put a win10 with a virtual.box on... works for home. ;)

But i need still from time to time some help, for my real proxmox server..
all time if i try anything it hates me _(

today i only try to add a vm... it say not enough disk ! and after the web interface was gone..:(
i am still on on scp and ssh so i wait till backups are downloaded and try a reboot...
but me and linux is same like cows and deep sea diving ...
