Hello,
I have installed Proxmox. All I get is the command line. How do I access the GUI? How do I best divide my hard drive for Proxmox, ISO etc? I have a 2TB M.2
Sincerely,
Fredrik a beginner

Hello,
I have installed Proxmox. All I get is the command line.
Thats all you get on your Server. There is no desktop environment by default. If you want a desktop environment you need to install one by yourself.
How do I access the GUI?
Use another computer in the same network, open a browser and type in the URL (make sure you really use "https:/" and ":8006") to access the WebUI of your PVE server.
How do I best divide my hard drive for Proxmox, ISO etc?
The defaults should be fine for most cases. If you really want you could use the "Advanced LVM Configuration Options" to change it.

Hello,
thanks for this information.
I have now installed proxmox on my computer.
I wrote down the ip address that I will open in another computer to access the Proxmox GUI.
What to do if this GUI page cannot be opened?
I used https://my_ip_address:8006
I selected the default values of the IP address during installation.
Could I have chosen the wrong IP address?
If so, how do you think when choosing an IP address?
When I start Proxmox, it takes 7 minutes before I get the prompt to log in.
Then I can log in with the password I have chosen.
After a while, the prompt disappears and I have to reboot the computer to get the prompt back.
How can I troubleshoot my installation?
Fredrik

You can't just choose anything. The gateway IP needs to be your routers IP and for the IP of the PVE server itself you need to choose one that is part of your routers subnet. Also make sure that this IP isn't already in use and is not part of the DHCP range of your router. For the DNS server you should choose your router IP too.

OK thanks for this information.
My data is :
Gateway: 192.168.1.98
DNS server : 192.168.1.98
What should I choose for address to IP address (CIDR): ?
How do I know if "that this IP isn't already in use and is not part of the DHCP range of my router"?.
Very grateful for help

Are you sure thats your routers IP? Would be the first case that I hear of that the default router IP doesn't end with "1".
How do I know if "that this IP isn't already in use and is not part of the DHCP range of my router"?.
You make a list of all your devices at home and check if they got a static IP set. If they got one that IP is already in use and can't be used twice.
For the DHCP range you login into your routers webUI and look if you can find any information there. Often routers will allow you to change the DHCP range. All IPs in this range will be automatically assigned by the router to DHCP clients, so you don't want to use any IP in that range so a IP isn't assigned twice.
