GUI on PoxMox itself to run Win11 on outdated machines / single box

My question more hypothetical, rather than realistic.

Normally ProxMox able to manage Windows 11 regardless of underlying hardware. If we should install GUI partially on proxmox, a single box solution would be beneficial to whom does not have Win11 capable hardware.
Performance impact would be minimal.

Any comment or suggestion about that?

hi,

yeah, for example you can use an X11 environment on your PVE machine and access the VMs locally using the web interface [0]

Performance impact would be minimal.
that depends on your actual hardware setup, your VM configuration and the workload.

for instance to get better performance with GPU, you can do a passthrough of your device to the VM [1]

hope this helps!

Hi Oguz,

Yeap! Great links thanks for that. I found identical and my tests are passed on USB, Serial, PCI pass-thrue.
Just an add-on. Finally switched to spice and user experience perfect.

It is working like a charm. Great savings on hardware costs everywhere. Thanks ProxMox.
