Guest VM's agent selection

Hi out there,

In my environment guest vm's installed with qemu-guest-agent , there is some issue with backup of vm during backup system unreachable and some disturbance in system.
One of the college recommended to use "open-vm-tools" agent for better performance.

So my question is : Should we need to uninstall first qemu agent before installing open-vm-tools, or both can run without issue and is it true open-vm-tools better than qemu ?

AFAIK "open-vm-tools" is specific to vmware products and will not work with QEMU/KVM as used in PVE.

If you experience issues with the QEMU guest agent, it might help to describe those instead. We are aware of some issues with hanging backups, but every information can help us troubleshoot.
