Guest VM filesystems as plain files on host

Hello,
I was wondering how to make it so that each guest filesystem was plainly available to see/browse/change on the host. Like the root of the guest being on the host as /vms/<containerid>/{/etc, /var, etc}
And if so, where would those be located.

Don't do it. Standard filesystems will be damaged when acessed from more than 1 system. You need cluster fs (gluster etc).

It is doable with containers, using 'pct mount' command.
