[SOLVED] Guest agent config

Hi,

I'm in the process of migrating some Ubuntu VMs from ESXi to Proxmox.

I have migrated a Ubuntu 16.04 VM and all seems to be working apart from the QEMU Guest Agent.

I have removed the open-vm-tools package I was using on ESXi and replaced it with the qemu-guest-agent package from the Ubuntu repository. I have verified the agent is running with "service --status-all" on the VM.

I have enabled the guest agent on the VM options page in the Proxmox webgui.

But the webgui summary page for the VM still reports that the guest agent is not configured.

Is there another step I need to take to get the agent and the hypervisor to connect?

did you stop and start the vm again after enabling the guest agent?

I restarted the guest OS, but I did not stop-start the VM itself. I'll give it a try.
