grub won't read alternate drive

I'm having troubles with a fresh install of Proxmox (on a debian install), where I can't get grub (2.06-13+pmx5) to read alternate drives.

I had issues early with grub getting stuck on "Welcome to GRUB" earlier, after installing proxmox kernel, but grub-install in rescue mode fixed that.

When I do ls (hd4,gpt2) the cursor just hangs and never returns.

Interestingly, when I did this on 2.06-13+pmx3 I have no such issues.

what do you mean with "alternate drive"?

"Alternative drive" - A NTFS formatted drive/partition (with an EFI stub), separate from my primary proxmox drive and partitions.

When fully booted into proxmox, I can mount the partition without issue.

Grub sees the partition/drive exists, it just hangs when trying to read it.

this is a known regression in the last set of CVE updates for Grub (affecting NTFS partitions only), it will be fixed by the next update.

Thanks for the confirmation that this is a known regression.

For my sanity, and so I have something to report to my colleagues, is there a timeline when can I expect an update to be released?

it should likely be on pvetest before the end of the week, or maybe on Monday, unless we find some problem with the fix internally.
