grey screen and no install wizard

Hello,

I am new to proxmox and this is my first attempt to install proxmox. I am installing it on T420 laptop, the machine is working fine given that I am already using it as Linux machine. However, when I try to install proxmox after booting from proxmox USB, I only get the grey screen with a cursor, it's responsive that is I can right click and a menu shows up but clicking any option on the menu does nothing.

Any help is appreciated.

Which ISO version are you trying to install the PVE?
How did you burn the PVE ISO file on the flash [0]?

However, you still can install PVE on top of Debian by following our wiki guide [1]

I downloaded the latest "proxmox-ve_7.1-2.iso". I used the Startup Disk Creator on Ubuntu 21.10 to create the flash drive.

I will follow your link and use the "dd" command to make the flash and try.

Tried following the instruction by creating the flash drive using "dd" command, it resulted in the same gray screen.

The Proxmox is like

As said you can install the Proxmox VE on top of Debian 11 [0]. Otherwise, I would try setting up the USB flash using (etcher.io) and try again.

I will try etcher.io as well, will report back once done.
