Hello,
I'm new to Proxmox and server configuration and running into an issue when connection via SSH to my VPS where Proxmox is installed on.
What has been done so far:
- Installed Proxmox on a VPS via a SSH connection as sudo user
- Setup and configure /etc/network/interfaces to have vmbr0 and vmbr1(third spoiler)
Current situation:
- Configured the etc/network/interfaces file on my root node (vmiXX)
- Created a LXC (lxc-test) which uses the vmbr1 interface from vmiXX
The lxc can be pinged from the root node
I can access the web interface of proxmox (as root and another user I created earlier)
I can use the web shell of proxmox to establish a connection to the root node vmiXX as one of the users <- This way I setup the etc/network/interface file
Issue
I'm unable to SSH into the main node (basically the VPS itself) from my home network as any user (not even root) as I'm always getting the message "Permission denied"
The password is correct as I'm able to use the web shell to login to the node
Then I tried adding a public key which I created on my home pc to the auhorized_keys file on the root node but there still is a password prompt after restarting the ssh service
//The following ip adresses have been changed so just take them as example
I have the feeling that my ssh connection is not getting established to the VPS itself but rather beeing redirected somewhere and I don't know why.
What do I need to change to be able to connect to the root node from my home network via ssh?
