Getting new PVE to use LXCs and VMs from old PVE

Hello, I'm very new to Proxmox, and managed to get LXCs and VMs running on 7.3.3.

I'm ready to configure a new PVE using a brand new SSD.

My goal is to enable the new PVE to use all the LXCs and VMs running and configured with the old PVE.

I'm not sure if this is helpful or not; I got PBS up and running. LXCs and VMs are being backup now.

In Reddit a few gents told me to go through a number of steps link here; the info is great, but I have no idea how to approach it safely. The original PVE wasn't installed using zmirror... I had no idea what I was doing (sorry, not that I have idea for that matter now...)

Would appreciate if some experts here can help me out by giving me some guides/articles on how to do this.

If you got a working PBS, then it's probably easiest to install a new PVE and restore your VMs from backup. Just make sure that the backups are actually working before deleting the original VMs.

There are some posts on this forum regarding consumer SSDs. You might want to have a look at them to make up your mind on whether it's a good idea.

From this, do I also need to backup configuration files?

If you backup the VM using the backup feature builtin to proxmox, no.

You can try it. Is there a specific reason you want to migrate BIOS and EFI?

I'm booting in legacy mode. I think, since I'll install the new PVE using mirror, I need to boot in UEFI mode. I'm new to this, so please bear with me.
